Growing Trollwood…Bridging Community and Connecting the World Trollwood Announces $16.25 Million Campaign for New Home

On Tuesday, July 11th, a crowd of supporters, students and media, gathered at the Yellow Brick Road at Trollwood Park, Fargo, birthplace of Trollwood Performing Arts School, to hear a major announcement regarding the progress of Trollwood moving to a new home in south Moorhead. Trollwood FutureBuilder and New Home Campaign chair, Brad Schlossman announced the campaign goal of $16.25 million, of which $11.276 million has already been raised. These funds will be used for Phase 1 of Trollwood’s new home, which encompasses land acquisition and infrastructure, construction of a campus of new facilities, equipment and furnishings, as well as for annual operations over the next five years. This total includes a $5.5 million grant from the state of Minnesota, as well as private contributions secured in the past 6 months.

Trollwood Executive Director, Vicki Chepulis, and Founder/Development Director John Marks, stated, “We are extremely grateful for the generosity and support of the benefactors who have brought us to this point in the campaign.”

Located in Moorhead along the Red River at 50th Avenue South, Trollwood’s New Home site includes a linear and regional park in addition to Trollwood’s campus. There will be space for bike paths, picnics, shelters, playgrounds, and other community facilities for meetings, retreats, and reunions. In addition, a new pedestrian bridge is planned to be built at the park which will span the Red River, linking Fargo and Moorhead—giving a true co-location to Trollwood.

Trollwood is grateful to everyone from the City of Moorhead, Fargo Public Schools, FutureBuilders, and our great team of supporters who are working diligently to make this dream a reality.
