Option 1: Dormitory Housing To assist students from outside the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area, TPAS has arranged for dormitory housing on the North Dakota State University campus in Fargo, located about 2 miles from Trollwood Park. This housing arrangement is offered in partnership with the North Dakota Governor’s High School. Students will live in residence halls on the NDSU campus and eat meals in the student dining hall. Governor’s School staff and university resident assistants will supervise all TPAS students residing in dormitory housing when they are not at Trollwood Performing Arts School.
When not at Trollwood-scheduled classes and activities, students rooming at NDSU are required to participate in all scheduled Governor’s School meals (breakfasts and dinners) and evening activities, including recreational and fine arts activities and field trips.
Dormitory Fees The cost for a double-occupancy dormitory room, meals, and inter-campus transportation is $800. Transportation to and from the dormitory and Trollwood Park and lunch at TPAS is included. Students who choose to participate in the weekend Governor’s School activities must pay an additional fee. All dormitory students are responsible for their own transportation to and from home, as well as personal expenses such as laundry and snacks.
Weekend Option On weekends, TPAS students may stay on campus and participate in all weekend Governor’s School activities, such as visits to museums, theatres, and amusement parks. The weekend activity fee is an additional $100. Or, Trollwood students may choose instead to return home for weekend visits. Parents must submit in writing a schedule for the departure, transportation, and return of the students.
For complete information and a residence application form, please contact TPAS immediately.
Students wishing to reserve dormitory housing must submit a completed application with $200 deposit by Friday, May 9, 2008.
Option 2: Independent Housing Out-of-town students may instead choose to reside independently with family or friends in the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area. In this case, room and board arrangements must be negotiated between the parties without TPAS involvement.
